£24-26,000 (pro-rata) depending on experience and qualifications

The Henry Moore Foundation seeks to appoint a part-time Art Technician for their headquarters, one hour from London in rural Hertfordshire, home to the largest collection of Moore's work, with over 12,000 sculptures, drawings, graphics, textiles and tapestries.

This three days per week position involves installation of exhibitions worldwide, warehouse handling, condition reporting, packing, preparation of objects and galleries, couriering works of art in transit as well as maintenance of sculpture in the grounds.

He/she will report to and support the Sculpture Conservator and work closely with a small and dedicated team of curatorial and registrarial staff.

Knowledge of professional art handling practices required. An interest in modern sculpture, ability to work independently, flexibility in hours, enthusiasm for learning new skills and willingness to travel are essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to pass a slinging course and obtain a forklift license within six months of arrival, as well as possess a UK driving licence.

He/she will have practical experience in one or more of the following areas: sculpture; paper or sculpture conservation; museum/gallery art handling or patination. Please refer to the Foundation's web site for full job description: www.henry-moore.org.
