Applications are invited for the above fixed-term, whole-time post (3 year contract)

  • Responsibilities include the support for the teaching, learning and research activities of the Staff and Students of UCC. This may include:
  • The development and delivery of formal Information Literacy programmes in liaison with academic staff and library colleagues
  • The provision and development of academic related services to meet the needs of the university's teaching, learning and research community.
  • Provision of guidance and advice with navigating and exploiting library and other quality information resources to their full potential
  • Collection development and management, including the investigation of potential new resources
  • Communication and collaboration with client groups and library staff on the development of new services.
  • Liaison at School & College level on teaching, research, student affairs, planning for new developments, accreditation, quality reviews etc
  • Managing the staff and operations in a section of the Library as required.
  • Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Librarian or his/her nominee and as listed on www.ucc.ie/hr/vacancies 

Applicants must be graduates and hold a recognised qualification in Library and Information Studies. Experience of working in an academic Library or equivalent is essential. Demonstrable skills in the use of IT in a Library service context are required. A full list of selection criteria is available from www.ucc.ie/hr/vacancies 

Salary: within the ranges €39,853 - €49,345 or €47,212 - €56,562 (new entrants) depending on qualifications and experience. Evening/weekend work will be required.
