Australia; Creative Clusters, Soft Infrastructure and New Media PhD Scholarship

Scholarship Description

A three-year PhD scholarship exists within QUT’s Creative Industries Faculty with Professors Justin O’Connor, Greg Hearn and Michael Keane, along with Dan Hill, senior Consultant at ARUP. The scholarship will be part of an ARC Linkage Project investigating the design of creative clusters in China. Clusters of diverse creative businesses are increasingly important for creative industries and urban policy makers in the West and especially in China. In order to plan and design such clusters in a way that responds to the needs of these businesses, we need a much better understanding of how they work. This PhD research will involve a detailed study of the actual and potential role of new networking technologies and usages, interactive media and embedded urban informatics. The value of this scholarship is AUD26140 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Masters or equivalent.
