A Postdoctoral research position is available in the research group of Professor Iain Campbell in the School of Molecular and Microbial Biosciences. The successful applicant will conduct NH&MRC-funded research to examine the molecular basis of interferon actions in the central nervous system.

The appointee must have a PhD or equivalent in the area of immunology/neuroimmunology. An understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of cytokine signalling in immunology is desirable. Familiarity with relevant experimental techniques in molecular and cellular immunology particularly as applied to the study of murine models of immune-mediated disorders is essential. Evidence of accurate record keeping, preparation of research outputs for communication purposes, and oral and written communication skills, and professional experience in the mentoring of research trainees is also essential. Applicants must have a proven research ability, evidence of research potential and potential for future development and evidence of ability to work cooperatively with others.

The position is full-time fixed term till January 2011, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probationary period for new appointees. Membership of the University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.

Remuneration package:up to $76k p.a. (which includes base salary, leave loading and 17% employers contribution to superannuation)
