Full Time:
The appointment will be on UCL Grade Professorial. The salary range will be Reader - £50,902 to £55,362 per annum; Professor - negotiable on the professorial scale but not less than £61,960 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The Bartlett School of Architecture is part of a truly multidisciplinary Faculty of the Built Environment in world-class University College London. The post holder will be instrumental in creating a vibrant and innovative urban design culture in the School of Architecture and contribute to the enhancement of the department's role as an international leader in the field of urban design and planning. This will include: innovative urban design; sustained research activity and peer-reviewed research publication; success in raising research grants and other income to support departmental research and other activities; high-quality and innovative graduate teaching, supervision of research students within the post-holder's field of expertise; collaboration and co-operation with colleagues in the above activities; active dissemination of research knowledge for maximum social impact; contribution to public engagement.
Candidates will be established academics or have a distinguished professional career with significant standing on the international platform, bringing their own pedagogical field of expertise to a role that is in part self-defining but also able to cultivate the strong plurality and diversity present within the architecture school and the faculty.
Applicants must also have a doctoral degree or another relevant professional qualification, a track record of research collaboration with other research teams, institutions or individuals, high quality peer-reviewed publications, a track record in the design of notable works of urban design and/or architecture, or curating the work of others in this field, A commitment to and evidence of teaching excellence while fostering a positive learning environment for students and ability and effectiveness in administration.
