COLLEGE OF LIFE SCIENCES AND MEDICINE

The Health Economics Research Unit (HERU) is seeking to make a part-time appointment at Professorial level. This post is funded by the Chief Scientist Office of the Scottish Government Health Directorates.

The Unit is based in the Division of Applied Health Sciences, within the College of Life Science Medicine & Dentistry.  HERU is one of the UK's leading research centres in the field of health economics.  In the 2008 RAE, researchers from HERU were placed joint top of the UK league in health services research. 

You will join a vibrant and stimulating research environment. You will support existing research and establish new areas of methodological work within the Preference Elicitation and Assessment of Technologies (PEAT) Programme. You will also have a specific remit to provide strategic advice on developments within the field of technology appraisal.

To be successful in this role you will be a recognised international expert in health economics and health technology assessment, have an extensive record of high quality published research and an outstanding track record in securing research funding. Experience in academic leadership roles in health economics would be desirable.

Salary will be at the appropriate point of the Professorial scale with placement according to qualifications and experience. 

This appointment will be made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University.
