A Knowledge Transfer Partnership between the University of Reading's Department of Food BioSciences and Rowse Honey Ltd, part of the Wellness Foods Group. Rowse Honey Ltd is the leader in the UK honey market, in brand & retailer own label. The wide range of uses of honey and its association with health, wellbeing and naturalness has enabled rapid market growth driven by Rowse Honey's strategy of innovation.
The 18 month project is to investigate the complex properties of honey in order to develop improved processes, leading to sustainable production of both current and new products. It is anticipated that the knowledge and experience gained will positively influence the future development and profitability of the business. This project will be based full-time at the company, based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
You will have a 1st Class or Upper Second BSc or MSc in Food/Bio Technology or Chemical/Biochemical Engineering. Talented fresh graduates will also be considered for this role. You will have a strong motivation to apply material and processing sciences to a business environment. Industrial experience is desirable, but not essential. You will be enthusiastic and motivated, in addition to this you will be a good team worker with good communication skills.
