Three year fixed term contract at 0.3 fte

The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a Clinical and Academic Tutor for our clinical psychology training programme: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. This part-time post (0.3 fte) is available from 1 October 2010 on a fixed term basis for 3 years and can be offered as a University of Exeter appointment or as a secondment.

This appointment is part of a recruitment drive as we prepare for an increase in trainee numbers in the North of the region. The programme sits within a wider Clinical Training and Research Network offering excellent career development opportunities. The programme is well-established, with a strong research agenda and excellent links with local practitioners who are supporting our innovative developments for training in the South West. The School itself provides a collegial working environment and the South West offers an excellent quality of life.

The main role for the successful candidate will be to support the Clinical Director in planning and delivering the clinical aspects of the programme including the development and monitoring of the placements in Somerset. There will also be a developmental role in collaborating with colleagues in Somerset about training, and significant academic contribution to the locality base and teaching undertaken in the locality. This will include marking assessed work and facilitating a locality PBL group.

Depending on academic and clinical qualifications the appointment will be appointed / seconded at a point equivalent to the NHS AfC 8B.  It is possible to appoint on a University of Exeter contract and pay scale.  For a University contract, the starting salary will be from £38,951 up to £52,347 per annum, (£11,685 to £15,704 pro rata) on Grade G, depending on qualifications and experience.
