The College seeks to appoint a Development Director.
The College has a successful track record in fund raising and building relations with its alumni. This has enabled the College to endow a number of Fellowships, provide financial support to students and invest in new buildings. It intends to launch a major new campaign to raise £20 million over the next decade – the ‘20/20 Campaign’. In order to achieve this, the College needs to expand its Development team and to create a new position of Development Director to lead it.
The Development Director will be responsible for managing all of the College’s development & membership activities. S/he will be responsible for assisting the College set its Development strategy and building its case for support. S/he will have overall responsibility for all the development programmes, including the major donor programme, the annual fund and the legacy programme. S/he will take direct responsibility for fund raising from major donors. S/he will work closely with the Master, Bursar and other fellows.
Sidney Sussex (founded in 1596) has 370 undergraduates, 190 graduate students and 75 Fellows. The College enjoys a friendly atmosphere, strong academic performance and excellent relationships between Fellows, Staff and students.
The Development Director will be a senior position in the College; will be a Fellow and a member of the Governing Body. The stipend will be in the range £55,535 to £64,379 (point 63 to point 68 on the University’s salary spine). The position is pensionable under the Universities’ Superannuation Scheme.
