The role
This post is based within a team dedicated to managing and reducing the University's use of energy and resulting CO2 emissions. We want you to identify, plan and implement a range of reduction initiatives by applying your specialist knowledge of energy and water conservation methods, building services and sustainability.

Your duties will include managing a programme of retrofit measures, providing advice and support for those undertaking capital/small projects organising/presenting workshops and producing guidance/policy documents.

You will be required to periodically review the effectiveness of activities and make recommendations for their improvement or discontinuation. 

There is the added responsibility of contributing to strategic plans, exploiting sources of funding for projects and deputising for the Head of Utilities as required.

Requirements
You require a first degree or equivalent level experience in Engineering, Building Services, Energy Conservation or related subject.

Proven experience in a similar or relevant technical role is a must, as is a track record of identifying and implementing energy conservation projects.

You will have knowledge of legalisation, regulation, fiscal incentives affecting of energy use and carbon management.

Your skills will cover project management and evaluation, statistical methods, buildings services, control systems and the use of plant.
