Greek; Scholarships Foundation Alexander Onassisa

The annual scholarship program of the Greek community foundations Alexander Onassisa announces competition for research and educational scholarships for professors and university professors, researchers with Ph.D. degree, the Greek language teachers, artists, and graduate and doctoral students.

This year the Foundation Alexander Onassisa offers several types of scholarships of varying lengths for different categories of applicants:

- Category A1 – one-month fellowships for members of the institutions of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, or university professors who intend to study in one academic institutions / universities in one of Greece;

- Category A2 – 3-6 – monthly stipend for university professors at any stage of their careers, researchers with Ph.D. degree, artists and musicians. Anticipated that two fellows print articles on the results of a research visit to the Greek university / research institutions. Required documents for applicants of these two categories – completed application form, copy of passport photographs, a detailed cover letter, letter of invitation from Greek university lecturer, a copy of the assignment of PhD-degree, reference letters, detailed biography;

- Category B – scholarships for up to six months for teachers of Greek language (for applicants required is knowledge of Modern Greek). Required documents: application form, photographs, a certified translation of documents on education, a certificate of knowledge of the Greek language, letter of recommendation from the Director of the institution where the applicant, detailed biography;

- Category C1 – scholarships lasting from 5 to 10 months for graduate students and doctoral students. There is a compulsory basic knowledge of Modern Greek. Required documents: application form, photographs, a certified translation of documents on education, officially certified transcript, the document that the applicant for postgraduate studies / doctoral program of the university, two letters of recommendation, a detailed biography.

Deadline for sending documents by mail on a regular scholarship in all categories – January 31, 2010 (with a stamp on the envelope).
