The Environment Exchange (known as t2e) provides participants with a confidential and transparent method of buying / selling environmental economic instruments at the best available prices through the use of standard rules and its web based trading floor (http://www.t2e.co.uk/) to provide real time transaction information.
This project is to develop a trading scheme for recovered paper products with particular emphasis on the Chinese markets as part of a KTP project (http://www.ktponline.org.uk/) with Edinburgh Napier University. In achieving this, the Associate will face the challenge of understanding the technical constraints of the market combined with the commercial realities of developing a trading model that is attractive to users, profitable for t2e and robust / sustainable in the face of competition.
The work will be contracted for a fixed 2 year period initially with the possibility of continuing employment thereafter in the company.
Candidates will have an MSc or equivalent in a relevant subject matter. Experience of Marketing Strategy, International Marketing and an understanding of commodities trading are preferable. Prior experience of working within the environmental sector and with overseas markets (particularly China) would also be an advantage. Candidates require good communication skills and command of business English - the ability to communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese is desirable.
