The Reward and HR Systems unit has responsibility for developing and implementing HR strategy across all areas of the University by working in close collaboration with colleagues in HR and senior managers across the organisation. The unit focuses on the formulation of people management strategy to meet student and business needs, the development of effective solutions and providing support in their delivery.
Responsibilities
The key areas of responsibility include: organisational development, workforce planning and utilisation, equality and diversity, modernisation and business improvement, policies, strategy, pay and reward, management information and systems and data quality. The HR Directorate is responsible for developing and driving an HR Strategy which forms a key element of the University’s holistic approach to Organisational Development and Business Improvement.
Person Specification
The role holder will contribute to all aspects of the analytical, research and statistical services provided by the Reward and HR Systems team and will be primarily responsible for the production and analysis of HR management information.
The MI Analyst post is a maternity leave cover (Fixed term for 12 months, Part-time 0.4 from Feb to March 2012 increasing to full-time up to the end of the Maternity leave (March 2013).
This is a specialist role and the role holder is expected to have sound knowledge and experience of producing and analysing statistical data as well as excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of database and spreadsheets.
The successful candidate should be willing to learn new skills (e.g. development of SAP BW reports and maintenance of existing ones) and be able to produce and analyse regular management reports. You will be expected to work with little supervision and will have to demonstrate your ability to prioritise and manage diverse and conflicting deadlines.
