Nottingham Business School has experienced significant growth in its research activity which now places it in the top 50 UK Business Schools in terms of “research power”, with 80 percent of its research outputs judged as being of international standard. To expand research activity further and build on this success, the School now seeks a dynamic individual to drive forward the School’s research ambitions and support its academics and research centres in increasing external research grant and contract income. The purpose of the post is to:
You will be professionally qualified with experience and knowledge of the major sources of research funding in the Social Sciences. You will be expected to create opportunities to improve and promote the research effort of the School by building successful and strong relationships within the Business School and with external funding bodies. The ability to identify new opportunities, develop and manage a portfolio of research grants and contracts and operate strategically in collaboration with the Research Director is essential, as is the ability to lead and work within a team. You should have a proven track record in research grant capture, project management and relationship building. A background in preparing bids for funding and knowledge of a range of research funding bodies is also required.
