The project aims to examine the feasibility of constructing and validating a planning model/tool/method that can be used to a) plan a computer network operation, and b) assess the impact of the operation.

Recent cyber events such as GhostNet and Operation Aurora highlight that the nature of intrusions into an organisations infrastructure has changed.
Increasing information is being exfiltrated out of an organisation information infrastructure. Thus the goal of this PhD is to examine the feasibility of constructing and validating a model that can be used to assess the impact of a computer network intrusion. In particular, to create an ontological and taxonomic constructs and metrics that can be used in conjunction with a behavioural engine to assess the impact of the intrusion at the business process level.
The applicant of this project will adopt the following objectives:
Entry Requirements: A minimum of a 2:1 in a relevant subject area.

Funding information: Funding will be available to provide a student stipend (currently £13,390pa) and fees for EU/UK applicants.
