We are seeking a highly motivated post doctoral scientist to join our team on a new Cancer Research UK grant awarded to Prof Claire Lewis. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop your scientific career by working as part of a highly productive team in an outstanding research environment within the Academic Unit of Inflammation & Tumour Targeting.

The work is focussed on the use of novel model systems to increase our understanding of the role of macrophages in tumour recovery after therapy. You will be qualified to PhD level in tumour or macrophage biology (or equivalent). A proven academic track record, and experience of monocyte/macrophage isolation and use of cancer models to study these cells in tumours are considered essential.

You will be part of a team of scientists responsible for carrying out a high quality research programme in tumour inflammation using advanced model systems combined with novel imaging technology.

The post is fixed-term for 3 years and will start on 1 February 2011.
