Position Description: Rabia Education Trust (Rabia Boys & Girls School) requires to provide a daily homework assistance in all academic subjects from Key Stage 2 till Key Stage 4 students. He/She must also facilitate the development of new academic skills, focused primarily on improving students' reading fluency and comprehension as well as provide a supportive environment that encourages learning and student academic growth. Attendance at weekly 1½-hr staff training is mandatory. The meeting is for discussion of individual student progress by each tutor with the group as a whole, for setting rotating assignments, and for workshops and training sessions in teaching and mentoring methods and the use of teaching aids.

Qualifications:

This job requires experienced professional with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to work well with children and youth from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • General working knowledge of Islamic studies and Urdu language
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Work independently as needed within established guidelines
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Communicate effectively with youth, parents, volunteers, and library personnel
  • Capable of writing in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to coordinate the work of and direct volunteer staff
  • Be flexible in responding to frequent change
  • Able to effectively manage groups of children and youth
  • extensive experience required
  • specialty in Urdu language is highly desirable

This position is full time with good basic salary package of £28,200.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must clear mandatory criminal background check

Duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist students with homework in a wide variety of academic subjects in small groups or individually
  • Help students determine and then achieve their academic goals
  • Facilitate specific learning modules
  • Serve as a role model and mentor students so they achieve their full potential
  • Communicate with parents and teachers to assess full student needs and progress
  • Collect and maintain statistics regarding student attendance, learning progress, etc.
  • Work in partnership with library staff to help students access library information and resources
  • Assist with special programs and field trips
  • Maintain library behavior standards
