Library Services at Royal Holloway provides access to a wide range of electronic resources, complemented by over 500,000 printed volumes across two campus libraries. This lively research-led campus environment is based in Egham, Surrey, and has strong partnerships with other universities in South West and Central London. Applications are now invited to fill a new full-time, permanent position within the Library's Systems & E-Strategy team.
Salary scale: £31,987 to £37,780 inclusive of London Allowance
This role will contribute to the delivery of the College's Research Strategy and Open Access Publications Policy by managing the day-to-day work associated with the various research collections in the institutional repository and providing Library support for the College's new research information system. The post holder will also help establish and maintain a digital offprint service for courses using the College's virtual learning environment and will be the first port of call for staff needing practical guidance on copyright issues and open access publishing.
To undertake this interesting and varied role successfully, you are likely to have gained relevant experience in a publishing, legal, university or library environment. You will be expected to forge effective partnerships with stakeholders across the College to promote and evolve the repository and its digital assets to meet research and teaching needs. You will therefore need to be a highly-organised and self-motivated individual with excellent communication, presentation and networking skills with a keen eye for detail. You will be very familiar with open access initiatives and intellectual property issues in the HE sector.
