 SALARY: Grade 4 - pro rata £23,811 - £28,401

Fixed Term Appointment for 3 months                       

 The Business School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic researcher to work on the project 'Is English Enough: The view from the other side'. The project seeks to investigate the experience of professionals in the finance sector in China in dealing with liaising and doing business with colleagues from the UK. The successful candidate will be required to conduct telephone interviews and must speak fluent Mandarin. Applicants with some knowledge of business and management related fields will be considered, but we are particularly interested in applications from candidates with qualifications in intercultural communication or sociolinguistics.

 Your main responsibility will be to work on the project, identifying respondents, conducting interviews, collating data and working on developing publications. You would need to have experience of qualitative research methodologies and writing up reports.

 Experience of academic publishing would be a benefit. You should demonstrate an ability to work as part of a research team and to work independently.

 The post is funded for three months on a full time basis, but there may be some flexibility in how these hours are worked.
