Part Time : 18.25 hrs (50% FTE)
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £27,907 - £29,435 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Salary pro-rata for part time vacancies
Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants are invited for a part-time Research Assistant position on a study to investigate the role of social firms in providing employment for people with severe mental health problems (SoFARR study), a nationally funded study in collaboration with the University of Warwick. It is based in a very active mental health services research group within the Department of Mental Health Sciences at UCL.
The postholder's main role is to carry out assessments of the clinical and social difficulties and views about employment of people with mental health problems who are currently employed in social firms.
The post is initially funded for sixteen months at 50%FTE and is available immediately.
Key Requirements
A good first degree (1st or 2.1) in psychology or a relevant social science is required.
Good research skills and understanding of mental illness and mental health services are essential. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage participants in research are also crucial. Willingness to travel round the South-East of England collecting data is essential and driving a car is desirable.
