The CRIMSON trial is a four year multi-site study of the effectiveness of Joint Crisis Plans to reduce compulsory treatment of people with psychosis, conducted in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

The trial is coordinated by the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London.  The aim of the trial is to find out if Joint Crisis Plans (JCPs) can significantly reduce the number of service users compulsorily treated under the Mental Health Act. The trial will separately analyse any reduction in the numbers of black African and black Caribbean people given compulsory treatment and include a cost-effective analysis of the introduction of JCPs. It will also seek to find out if JCPs lead to a more therapeutic relationship between service users and mental health workers.

The post holder will be responsible for following up and assessing participants, data entry and analysis, and assisting with the day-to-day running of the trial.  The post is based in Birmingham.
