Salary: £20,327 or £20,938 (Grade 4, step 1 or step 2)

Do you have excellent administrative skills and a desire to work for a world-class research centre studying live musical performance and creative music-making?

You will be responsible for providing administrative support for the AHRC Research Centre for Musical Performance as Creative Practice (CMPCP) based in the Faculty of Music at the University of Cambridge. This will involve:

  • administrative/clerical and secretarial duties to support the work of the Centre's Director, Professor John Rink
  • financial responsibilities including monitoring budgets, dealing with income and expenditure 
  • organisation of conferences, workshops and CMPCP performance events, including the International Performance Studies Network Conference to be held at Cambridge in July 2011
  • publicising the work of the Centre via the website, authoring resource guides and coordinating the production of the Centre's publications.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills. You should be educated to Degree level. You will have excellent IT skills (including the ability to maintain and add content to the CMPCP website) and will be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.  Previous experience of organising events and managing a budget is necessary; a qualification in Music (e.g. ABRSM, A-Level) and/or experience as a performer may be advantageous. If you are highly organised and self-motivated this role will prove challenging and fulfilling.

The post is graded at Grade 4 of the University's single salary spine and initially will be available at step 1 or step 2 on this grade
