Salary: £27,319 - £33,600 per annum.

34 month fixed term post, available full-time or part time may be considered.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated individuals who would enjoy working on and developing a novel programme of health research.

Work is underway to develop and apply the method of discrete choice experiments (DCE) to both value health and health care in general terms (particularly issues around generalisability of results) and with a particular focus on a utility-based outcome measure for End of Life Care research and policy.

The successful candidate will have post-graduate experience in health economics research or a related discipline and knowledge of DCE methods and analysis.

The research programme is funded by a National Institute of Health Research Career Development Fellowship based in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southampton. The Faculty is one of the largest and most successful of its kind in the UK. It is a world class faculty committed to improving health outcomes and transforming health services. It offers superb facilities for research and teaching in one of the UK's leading research universities. There are three thriving research groups within the faculty.

The successful candidate will work directly with Dr Karen Gerard (University of Southampton) and be a member of the Cancer, Palliative and End of Life Care Research Group. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work across faculty research groups, particularly the Organisation and Delivery of Care group and develop collaborations across the University and health service and have further opportunities for professional career development.
