£29,498 to £38,391 per annum

You will join the Department of Fluid Mechanics and Computational Sciences (FMCS), which has a strong record in applied research in academic and industrial sectors. You will join an expanding team working with major players in industry on a broad portfolio of research programmes.

You should have a good first degree and a PhD in a relevant discipline. Significant experience in programming in Matlab/Simulink is essential. Knowledge of aerospace applications and development of control systems would be an advantage. Have demonstrable interest in teaching as well as research. You will be expected to contribute to teaching, supervise research students and contribute to short courses. You will have experience of publishing your research in academic journals and at international conferences. The successful applicant will be selected to be able to contribute to the Department's research effort.

The Department of Fluid Mechanics and Computational Sciences at Cranfield University has an established range of teaching and research activities. The Department offers two taught Masters programmes, MSc by Research and PhD programmes as well as professional development courses. It also has a broad portfolio of  research activities funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), European Union and industry, in the UK and abroad. Recent high-profile clients have included the European Commission, Ministry of Defence, BAE Systems, Airbus, Rolls-Royce, MBDA, AWE and UKAEA.
