About the role:

The Faculty of Education is a key provider of teacher training and development, from early years to lifelong learning. One of our aims is to become a renowned centre of excellence in the provision of teacher training in Skills for Life (literacy, numeracy and English for Speakers of Other Languages - ESOL) and the lifelong learning sector.

As an experienced and qualified teacher of ESOL and/or literacy within the wider lifelong learning sector, you will be expected to contribute to learning, teaching and assessment across a range of lifelong learning teacher training pathways, and in particular literacy and ESOL specialist modules. You will be committed to widening participation and be passionate about literacy and language. You will also be experienced in supporting the development of other literacy and/or ESOL tutors, either in a team leader/management role, or as a mentor/teacher trainer.

You will have a thorough knowledge of your subject and of good practice in teaching Literacy and/or ESOL. You will have a higher degree, and as part of our drive to develop our profile in research and scholarly activity you will be committed to developing your research portfolio.
