If you're looking for a Senior Scientist role in Light Microscopy, this is your opportunity to join the UK's largest charity and help it to achieve its ambitious goals. The light microscopy facility at the Cambridge Research Institute offers a full-time permanent position for an expert in advanced light microscopy techniques. The main responsibilities of the job holder would be to support the Advanced Light Microscopy Imaging, supervise and train imaging techniques, quantitatively analyse imaging data and develop imaging applications/techniques.
The imaging facility provides a state-of-the-art core resource to CRI scientists, which offers imaging support as well as providing new developments in imaging applications. Details can be found at:
About You
The successful candidate will have broad experience in microscopy and imaging techniques, expertise in operating microscopes (DIC, confocal, wide-field fluorescence, time-lapse), experience in the use of commercial software for image acquisition and image analysis such as 2D, 3D and 4D- analysis. He/she will have a degree in biological sciences or physics or equivalent. A PhD is highly desirable but not essential.
Interest or experience in non-linear imaging such as multi-photon imaging, life-time imaging or high-throughput imaging would be an advantage.
The candidate will be part of a qualified multi-disciplinary team with a high degree of freedom to work within the parameters set by the facility head.
