A postdoc position in molecular immunology is available at the Ludwig Institute, Lausanne branch. In the main project tumor antigen-specific T cell responses will be elicited in HLA transgenic and B6 mice by different regimes and the CD8+ and CD4+ responses monitored. New MHC class I and class II – peptide staining reagents and improved monitoring techniques are to be developed. Candidate immunization strategies will be evaluated in antigenically defined mouse tumor models for their efficacy to eradicate tumor cells. A better understanding of tumor mediated tolerance is endeavored and to find ways to break it. Parallel studies with human cells will be performed to translate the finding obtained in the murine systems.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. and solid experience in immunology, mouse genetics and/or biochemistry and less than four years of post-doctoral experience. Entrance October 1, 2008 or as agreed with duration 3 years. Good integration in a small team and in collaborations with other laboratories is important.
